Economic inequality and the structure of political opportunities during the October 2019 protests in Ecuador

This paper analyzes the influence of political and economic context during the appearance and development of the October 2019 protests in Ecuador. The text builds an analytical model that combines the theory of political opportunity and economic inequality variables to test their complementarity. Methodologically, the paper employs quantitative indicators and qualitative analysis.
