Abstract

The objective of the article is to present the process through which the analysis and development of a methodological guide for the strengthening of reading comprehension in the first semester university students is obtained, for the purpose of the characterization of the habits. In this sense, through a qualitative quality a general panorama is established in front of reading skills and competencies with students admitted to higher education, revealing shortcomings related to personal habits and the ability of teachers for the appropriate the academic collectives with characteristic characteristics. Which leads to reflect on the need to create new pedagogical practices that encourage reading dynamics in students, but also in teachers, observing that both are responsible for the skills.
