Open Access – License
The Journal allows free and open access to all its content (Open access). The Creative Commons BY-NC-ND 4.0 license under which the Journal operates (attribution-non-commercial-no derivatives) allows others to download the works and share them with others, as long as authorship is acknowledged; the content of the files cannot be altered in any way nor can it be used for commercial purposes.
CC BY-NC-ND includes the following elements:
BY – Credit must be given to the creator.
NC – Only non-commercial uses of the work are permitted.
ND – Derivatives or adaptations of the work are not allowed.
In addition to the digital edition (from which full texts can be downloaded), the Journal offers a printed version for issues 1 to 9. Authors wishing to publish in the Journal must accept the free circulation of knowledge, as stated in the Creative Commons license.
The Journal Ciencias y Humanidades accepts texts in Spanish, English, Portuguese, and French. Likewise, the Journal uses adapted Chicago Human Style citation rules, available in the Citation and Publication Guidelines, and does not charge authors for publication.
Digital Preservation Policies
The Journal Ciencias y Humanidades uses the LOCKSS digital preservation system of Stanford University, USA. This offers open-source digital preservation services with the aim of providing and permanently preserving access to the digital content generated by our Journal. It also allows safe sharing of digital content among participating libraries.
Copyright Transfer Agreement / Copyright Notice
The mechanism used by the Journal to protect intellectual property, both of the author and of third parties, with regard to plagiarism, falsification, authorship, etc., is the copyright transfer agreement.
Periodicity
The Journal is published every six months (January-June / July-December) in digital format, releasing both articles and the corresponding content index. To be published, each manuscript undergoes the review process, selection process, and final decision.
Sponsors
The Journal operates with funding provided by the Corporación Educativa Jorge Robledo (IJR) in Medellín, Colombia, through the Center for Studies in Sciences and Humanities.
Final Considerations
The Journal will notify authors/reviewers/editors about changes in the Editorial Policies. Any concerns and/or intention to submit a complaint will be addressed via email at centrodeestudios@ijr.edu.co.
Abusive behavior toward our teams or other people involved in the editorial process will not be tolerated. The Journal reserves the right to take actions such as withdrawing a manuscript application or rejecting comments on an evaluation form if the author or reviewer exhibits such behavior.
